His professional practice focuses on energy, infrastructure, corporate governance and sustainability, with an emphasis on gas and fuel markets as well as in areas such as corporate, energy, and antitrust practices.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Alejandro Palma has over 20 years of experience. He served as Manager of Corporate and Legal Affairs at Copec S.A., Legal Manager and General Manager at GNL Chile S.A., and previously as a lawyer at Larraín y Asociados.

Throughout his career, he has led the design and implementation of strategies related to the negotiation of international natural gas supply contracts, construction and operation contracts for energy infrastructure, public offerings of shares, sale of utility companies, and concessioned highways, participation in public policies, and regulatory modifications on issues such as the Extended Liability of the Producer and Promotion of Recycling law, among others.

He has led teams and legal strategies in collective lawsuits and voluntary collective procedures related to consumer law. He has also played that role in contentious and non-contentious proceedings before the Free Competition Court.

Additionally, he has extensive experience in compliance, corporate governance, and sustainability matters.

MEMBERSHIPS

He is a member of the Chile-Australia Chamber of Commerce, which he presided over from 2007 to 2010.

PUBLICATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS

Alejandro has lectured in various presentations on energy and natural gas topics, including, among others,  the Natural Gas Fair in Perth, Australia, and the conference “Doing Business in Chile and Latin America for Australian Investors.”
