PRACTICE
His practice is focused on invention patents, utility models, and industrial designs concentrating on patentability reports, patent drafting, oppositions, and official actions in patent offices. He also evaluates technologies, knowledge management, and financial modeling of technology transfer. He advises major companies on strategic business matters and leading law firms in intellectual property matters.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Between 1995 and 1999, he worked as a Patent Examiner at the Chilean Patent Office (current INAPI), overseeing expert engineering professionals in the analysis of patent protection and utility models. He also served as the Head of the Technological Information Office at INAPI, where he managed state-of-the-art databases at a global level, evaluated and implemented cooperation and dissemination programs for industrial property development, and conducted prior art searches in various fields.
Since 1999, he has provided advisory services to the boards of important companies such as Laboratorios Saval S.A., Codelco, IM2 S.A., Garibaldi, and CodelcoTech S.A., in areas of industrial property, invention patents, technological innovation, and strategic business matters.
He worked as a Senior Associate Engineer in the Intellectual Property and Information Technology Department at Carey & Cía law firm (2004-2008).
Since July 2012, he has advised leading intellectual property law firms, specializing in invention patents, evaluation, transfer, and valuation of new technologies, as well as managing portfolios of intangible assets. He joined Magliona Abogados in 2021.
